Reptile Survey and Mitigation

The Consultancy was commissioned by a private developer to undertake a reptile survey of a site to be developed for commercial storage. The reptile survey revealed a small grass snake population on site. The site was fenced to aid a translocation programme and prevent further grass snakes entering the site from surrounding habitats during the works. Hibernaculum and egg-laying sites for grass snakes were created in an area on site to be retained and managed for grass snakes in the longer-term.
